On the last day of my last buying trip to Sri Lanka a broker brought in this fantastic blue sapphire - the finest sapphire of the entire trip and I knew that I couldn't leave without it! Madagascar has recently become known for its "Kashmir-type" sapphires, which can rival any sapphire from any location. This beauty is an intensely saturated blue that's very attractive in both outdoor and indoor lighting, excellent cutting (and a near calibrated 10x8 size for easy setting), and excellent clarity. If you are looking for "The One" to be used in an engagement ring or other milestone event, this is it.
