46.42 ct Trapiche Sapphire Cabochon
A rare sapphire variety called trapiche shows off the hexagonal crystal growth structure of sapphire. The origin of the name "Trapiche" comes from a similar effect in rare Colombian emeralds, but the characteristic in sapphire is even more rare. This example has a dark blue backdrop that highlights the perfect centered golden rays. I'd love to see this in a yellow gold setting!
