Mandarin Spessartite Garnet
This is one of the new spessartite garnets from the 2007 find in Loliondo, Tanzania near Serengeti National Park. Very bright “Mandarin” orange color with some yellow highlights – it looks like a hot little ember! Most of these mandarins have visible "sugary" inclusions in them, but this one is very clean. This stone is one of my all-time favorites.
