Chrysoberyl
The name 'chrysoberyl' comes from the Greek for "golden beryl". In spite of its name, it is not actually a beryl at all. They have an excellent hardness of 8.5 on the Mohs scale, and are second only to sapphire and diamond in hardness and brilliance. Chrysoberyl comes in a range of colors from honey to yellow to light green, and are mostly found in the gemstone deposits of Brazil, Sri Lanka or East Africa.
